Poem -

shedding my skin.

When I dance alone
With only my reflection
I think of you, your love

then the rejection
sets in

You knocked me
on me knees

Never come back
Begging

please,

haven't danced
in awhile

Still trapped inside
That crooked smile

The one you invented
when my heart lay dented

As for the knees
They to have ceased

Like a heart
without a chest

when I dance alone
with only my reflection
I think of you, your love

I haven't danced
in a while

corrosion
now setting in

it's been so long

slowly but surely
time is shedding my skin.
