Poem -

Garden path

A part of me wants her
To give me feelings.

I wanted to feel alive.

Not dead inside.

I'd grown too old for love.

Though I cared what she

Thought of me

Couldn't quite seeĀ

The forest for the trees.

Ā

Didn't dare to dreamĀ

Big like I should have been.

Safer to remain small.

I knew how to do that.

Knew too wellĀ

How to mine into the dark.

A god leadingĀ

Me down the garden path.
