Show Time

Show Time

Inside so hollow
Sorrow will follow
In my pain I wallow
Just let me stay

A blessed affliction
My sweet addiction
Curse my ambition
Don't bother to pray

Block out the light
Hold on tight
I fear I might
Just slip away

A hopeless mission
A worthless tradition
Yet the cost of admission
I thoughtlessly pay

In the absence of me
I feel so free
Such painful glee
Keeps the chaos at bay

Creating such friction
A dark depiction
This life of fiction
On stage we play

Too dark, this night
To see wrong from right
I just won't fight
To see another day

You'll hear, if you listen
A careful omission
To a dark prediction
In the words we say

Leave a spark of doubt
As the lights go out
With a final shout
My world fades to gray
