Shy Girl

You can change your body
but not your mind
that confident girls still there
she’s just harder to find
You’ve lost all the weight
but don’t want anyone to know
your layers of hate
you can’t let go
Isolation has become your friend
your comfort and your warmth
your afraid to bend
in case someone taunts
When you start to realise
it’s what you see that matters
when the cloud lifts from your eyes
their hold on you shatters
Smile and know you’re gorgeous
they’ll envy your confidence
the shy girl will feel nauseous
humbled in your presence
Ease her out of her shell
she made a friend today
a new dress she looks swell
her crush looked her way
