Sic!

Sic!

When my grandfather
James C. Short (b. 1923)
was in elementary school,
he was bullied everday
after school.

The last time he was bullied,
he brought his mixed-breed mutt
"Queenie" to the scene of the crime,
pointed his finger to the bullies
and said "Sic", to which his
best friend chased them down
and gave them bites not
of the love kind.

In Scottish, "sic" equals attack.
In Latin,  "sic" translates to
"thus it is written."

It is the last time
these bullies
bullied
James Curtis Short.
