Silence in the Shadows

Alone we think we eat we breathe

The air spins around as though it wants to comfort

Whispers in the room are they real or are they dead

A birth a cry and new beginning, a circle of life, a welcome wreath

Open your eyes what do you see, you see white and black vivid colors transport

Transport into images, sending messages to your brain, a cyclopedia in your head

As we begin to think and see, we begin to talk, we begin to read, we are taught

Only silence in the shadows will make you dream, make you fall asleep in your bed

Silence holds my love, lost in a tragic crash, the tree has fallen to the ground, and the grave is covered

As I walk in the cemetery to find your tombstone, I feel the silence in the shadows the taunt

My love is lost in the silence my shadow looks upon your feet, never recovered

Only my heart and my wedding ring are buried with you and your bones in the gallows

The angel of the night speaks to the dead as I find my place next to you once again
