Silent Sparkle

Silent Sparkle

The gentle hum is soothing as  they skip the silver pools,
form  crystal snowflakes swirling  as they pass.
The dancing of the fireflies like fluttering floating jewels
leave undisturbed the surfaces of glass

So fleetingly they dart and shimmer, natures true delight.
Their numbers growing now to silent throng.
A dazzling corps of beauty flying in such prismed  light
reminding nature this is where they belong.

At end of day when light has dimmed and shadows wait to gleam,
this stream of radiant magic will disperse
and fly away on scintillating, incandescent  beams
to light with joy our humdrum universe.

Nigel Cresswell...

Lovely poem Lady L. Summer nights on West Wycombe Hill watching them flicker in the grass and low shrubs. Emily (who is now a 26 year old teacher) when she was about 5 was utterly bewitched. This has brought back a couple of wonderful memories so thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Grammy,
That's so beautiful. I do love nature, it's so amazing, and unbelievable, makes you believe. And you've captured it so beautifully. Great job!!
You're a wonderful poet, young lady.
