Silly Me

Silly me,
but long ago now ..
I once
threw each letter
of your name
and yes,
in the right order ..
Into an
old wishing well
and called
upon the gods to
grant me just one ..
Then I burnt
three small green
candles ..
Each with your
name carved upon ..
And swore
upon the graves
of those
I once loved
I would find you
again,
or would die
in the searching ..
Silly me,
at the time I was
quite unaware
you had
banished meĀ
and that
wishing wells
worked for kids only ..

Could this be your masterpiece? Usually repetitive lines don't work for me, but for a short story that pulls you into the present, you forget and a reminder of, Silly me, really goes. After all, aren't we all Silly. Seems like the myth of adulthood.Ā

Great minds have focused purposes, while others have wishes.
The best of luck with your eleventh poetry book and everything works out at the end;
It all falls into place and sooner or later it is all good.
All good things to you Nev and your loved ones too :)

Being Me

I was in Glastonbury at the beginning of March! I wanted to get to the top of the Tor. Something I have never been able to do. I have a fear of heights. We even took the dog ... so adamant was I that I would succeed. And up we went. My heart was in it. My conscious brain was in it. I had the want,Ā  the over riding need to do it. I cannot tell you how much I was looking forward to getting to the top of the Tor.Ā  But it wasn't to be. I couldn't do it. IĀ  can laugh about it now but at the time ...well, it was not pretty. Let's leave it at that x
