Silver serpents

Silver serpents

My abstinence languishes daily,
and my skin rapidly becomes scaly.

Every staining second I lose who I am,
and my life seems to be nothing but a scam.

From your chamber you watch in the dark,
your fervour and woe creating a spark.

Behind every jest lies a sorrowful illusion,
and so we come together in our own fusion.

Crimson lightning has pierced my soul,
and silver serpents have filled the hole.

You say things are not always what they seem,
does that mean that this is all just a dream?
