Sing! Sing! Sing! Johnny
yes, you’re the talented one,
sing! sing! sing! Johnny Ray
cause I’m not too shy to say,
that I'm taken by your music
your words fall softly on my skin
takes my heart away
to ice cream days, and summer rays
and when I was a boy again,
chasing tad poles
Eating Jello
playing baseball center-field, like on the radio
then cooling down with homemade lemon-aide
wiping my brow,
smiling as you sang your song,
thinking to myself,
I got it made
and how it can’t get much better than this

Great reflective respectful tribute which is so beautifully crafted.
Take care my friend. :)
hey, Richard thanks man, poem is satire, love satire....poem is all about how people feel, listening to politicians, hope you had a chance to listen to the words in the Bob Dylan video, cheers, thanks for comment
A fine poem and video attached to make you think.
:)
Chris your talent knows no bounds. beautifully written My friend!
thank you so much, Lisa
Neither would it get any worse...Let's watch and see how it goes...Enjoyed
thank you so much Rose, both for the comment and for your understanding of the poem, be well
Hey Man!!...... that looks like a young Bob Dylan........ but I guess it's Johnny Ray...... whom I haven't been introduced to .......anyway, if it can take you back....... then it's good stuff.......I Love the way you used your phrasing here to remind us just how powerful music is in its roots and at which time it enters our lives!!........ALL STARS brother!!........ ttyl........T xo. ?
lol, T, of cause this is Bob Dylan, singing (or rapping) one of my favorite songs, the poem is just expressing feelings, it appears that I'm now obsessed with politics and the idea of idol worshiping politicians; who will become whatever or whoever you need them to be in order to get elected, hence 'Johnny Ray' who I think was an old time musician, not sure, lol....just used the name cause it sounded good....hey, I always considered Trump to be a 'rock star' lol, I'm shocked he is representing anything other than 'Trump' though, I still haven't wrapped my brains around him as president of the most powerful country on earth, too weird....later, and thanks for commenting bro
You're right Chris it don't get much better than this; your poem is a fitting tribute to a poet like no other of this genre; a genius in my mind;
Your entire presentation is 10 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love the art form &
I love this entire presentation you bring here.
LuV Jai:)
thanks jai, I'm a big fan of Dylan as well, though the poem is not a tribute to him, poem is trying to capture the euphoria some feel in idolizing politicians who act and speak like rock stars, I had Trump in mind when i wrote it, lol
I love your comment my friend, and it is true indeed that a poem is both for the reader and writer,
T.S Eliot once said, 'no poet, no artist of any art...has his complete meaning alone' but in future, I won't put an image of Bob Dylan and a video as well, and post a poem about feelings and politics, lol....be well, jai baby!
hugs
Hi , Chris, the your words flowed with a lyrical touch, creatively constructed and executed a fitting tribute to a legend

thanks, Jeff
