SIR TONY

SIR TONY

I've known a few Tonys in my life, yes sir,
my brother-in-law, the MC where fun would occur,
then there was a comedian called Hancock man,
who delivered his humour with a beautiful deadpan.

Actors crossed my path, 'Silence of the lambs,' for one,
Hopkins delivered his spooky liver and chianti kingdom,
now, there was a 'Sher' man who played Richard III,
his jerky portrayal was excellent, beautifully absurd.

There has to be a politician shouting everyone down,
good old Tony Benn was always there, aggressive frown,
then the lover boy with the slicked out frontal hair-do,
we all tried but somehow it never could quite be you.

Finally, there's a poet I know, excels in spiritual quality,
oh that we could write to match his incredible mystery.
