Poem -

the sleeping gown

memories of a tiny boy

who lived in a tiny town

dirty face his home a disgrace

and wearing a sleeping gown,

he is looking for his mother

as the sun starts to set

he is tired and malnourished

because he hasn´t eaten yet

the night come´s in fast

as he slowley walks this road

hopeing to find his mother

still wearing the gown his mother sowed

but the wind start´s to blow a storm

and blow´s him left to right

o where is his mother ?

will he find her on this night ?

then in the darkness of the night

a shadow did appear

was it his mother

or was it death he feared

but as he get´s closer

he see´s his mother who look´s asleep

she is laying on the road beside his dirty feet

he know´s there is something wrong

for she never made a sound

she just lay there lifeless

apon the damp and dirty ground

that´s the last he saw his mother

what a memorie to keep

they buried her in a boggy field

six foot in the deep

so that´s the momeries of a tiny boy

from a tiny town

dirty face his home a disgrace

and wearing a sleeping gown
