Slipping Seats

Slipping Seats

I was on a ship in the Mediterranean,
it was rough and the seats were slipping from the deck,
people were being sick standing at the side,
while others were up front swaying with the ride.

A bit like life, things not the same anymore,
you wish that you were back behind another door,
nice to be at a level, everything neat and tidy,
instead of being pecked at by bits of nonconformity.

You searched for nirvana but you never found it,
maybe next time but this is another next time;
people worse off than you, they wouldn't be cool,
you worry about cleaning out the swimming pool.

Write down the things you like: your smile, your love,
that guy you didn't believe in, guiding you from above.
