Slumber

Slumber

Webbed wings, scaly tail
Take flight to celestial veil
Wrap Luna in dragon hug
Toothy glean so smug

Drowsy eyes, count stars
Ponder Mercury and Mars,
Startle man on moon
Adrift upon winds of Neptune.

For now, one must sleep.
Β Plague sandman’s castle keep.
Dream of happier places
Juicy sheep, indulge in chases.

Curl upon her nightlight glow
Midnight so silent and mellow
Time for only sweet slumber
Century tis healthy number
