Smoking Gun

Smoking Gun

Let's get one thing clear - you can never stop it,
we can try to protect our children, only bit by bit;
there is one bar in the Houses of Parliament so far,
where you can go and Kenneth Clarke can smoke his cigar.

We don't want prohibition, bootlegging, black markets again,
it's divisive, not thought through, to protect people from pain;
over age limit you can drink as much alcohol as you wish,
but the parallel is inaccurate and only becomes churlish.

I'm vaping, gaping, procrastinating, for death I'm waiting,
maybe that's it - don't mention statistics, prevaricating;
a friend of mine has cancer which has spread to his bones,
he never smoked, we need 'The Gods of Foxcroft' where no one moans.

Yes, in the book you can replace your body, so don't say
it will never happen, tomorrow will be different from today.
