So Long Ago

Time is irrelevant when it comes to Heartbreak because the pain never actually goes away

So Long Ago

It felt like yesterday but it was so long ago
I took your hand and you reached my heart
I felt the sadness in your eyes
And you grabbed the emptiness of my soul
For a brief moment I was happy
And you were not alone
Yes, It felt like yesterday
But it was so long ago
I was right there by you
And you were safe
Loneliness was never an option
Until you said goodbye
I lived with an image for so many years
I wish you actually said goodbye
I wish you left a note
Saying that I was bad for you
Saying that I was never enough
Saying that we couldn't be
Saying all that I wanted to hear
But you just left
You left me to seek your world
When you were the only world that I had
I know
It felt like yesterday but it was so long ago

People say time makes it easier... in my experience it doesn't... you just learn to deal with it most of the time, not always

Being Me

A broken heart will be forever scarred. Best case scenario it eventually becomes a kintsugi heart. I think most poets have kintsugi hearts (my own opinion) x

Loss...personally I think it is the biggest and most horrendous of all emotions and yet somehow life keeps throwing it at us And yes, sometimes unfortunately so, we survive....albeit with a little bit more ofΒ  ourselves ...gone...hugs x
