''So You Won't Have too''

''So You Won't Have too''

''So You Won't Have too''

Pain comes in all colors

but mine came dressed in all black,

You use the law to ponder us all

and i'm suppose to set back.

I've walked these roads from the day I was born,

attached to no mans chains.

I walk it now, for those after me to come,

to eliminate, all their pain.

Theres those of them, that condemns the struggle

and for them there should be shame,

When there lies a problem, there for too,

should there lie the blame.

With every step i swear I wept,

to see so many in the crowd,

Their chant so strong I knew I belonged,

which fueled the urge, to yell emotions, out loud.

As I peered left from right, at the many faces seen,

of all colors, in this  fight, all linked hand/hand.

For that moment, I had felt, a deprived, frozen tear drop,

melt to see, other colored foot prints, placed in sand

Victims of legal, social injustice, bullying, intimidational tactics and

lack of care, gave birth to this march.

Yet, they say lynch mob, thug tactics but we weaar no hoods,

carry no guns, burning crosses nor carry any torches.

You see, just the other day, they killed Freddy Gray,

in the streets, on the naked grounds, dirt filthy.

Just across the walk, the men in blue, stared and talked

and if gestures and looks could kill, they were guilty.

So you see I march this day, to reserve a young life, gone astray,

to give hope, ''where once,” they fought to survive.

Hope to meet you around the bend and (march), this story want end,

until like all things that matter, includes ''Black lives”...

Jim

P.S. Inspired by a mother on ''CNN'' news whom stated her real reason for marching was to ensure in later life, her son would not have to and for the mom seen beating her child did nothing for me and if the shoe wasn't on the other foot, (as it concerns several civil servants being in the hot seat), for their actions against the public caught on tape, she would have been arrested rather than praised by the Law and few..I have two kids as well and feel the same for them if not more, than the mom who publicly beat her kid do. Back in the day, this would have been considered child abuse by the same system that tends to wonna (now) condoned and at that one moment, it was  suddenly accepted as legal, due to police ''injustice," now having to take center stage and answer for it's injust actions. their wounds as well. The police department can be appropriately and publicly in-tuned with the public or can be inappropriately out of line and who rules, strictly authoritatively. It depends on the attitude and practices, of the policys, the police chief himself, adopts and endorses..Dictates to me, that he is either out of tune and have no perception, of the patterened practices, with his police force, or he on the other hand, condones their ''former style of play'' and just as they, dawn, (as well as hide), behind the ''blue-cloak,” of ''Coded  silence.” Even those Law Enforcers, that claim to be ''Good'' cops, who tend to set back and hold your tongue, when matters arrive, that morally calls, for your ''Public'' service of releasing it, then you are as guilty as the accused...

This poem struck me. I have followed the Freddy Gray story but still can't understand how a mans spine gets severed in a van on a 20 min ride to the police station. He had a record but not a trial that pronounced execution. I hate the reality behind this poem but I love the delivery.

Thank you very much and i as well, hate the fact, that just as you stated, their are no true answers to be gave by the police department, without incriminating themselves..Again as stated, (4) stops and (20) minutes later, for a (4) block trip to the police station and not all of the stops were reported or recorded, until after it was observed on scenic cameras in route to the station..It is sad when the people,(which is we), can't believe nor trust, the individuals, we pay to protect and serve, when they find themselves on the other end of justice...They call it a "Code of Silence," when in fact when you can't find the truth in what you say and do, well you do as they do, fabricate excuses and expect the justice system, to continue to do, (as it has been doing for a whil,( turn a blind eye)..So true are your words, on his past interactions with the law and at the same time sad, when they attempt to place this guys past on trial, when his past, has nothing to do with his, ''present false arrest.''This isn't completely a ''color" issue, because it is happening to all nationalities  it is "our" issue and has been, for way to long and now is the time, for it to "cease." Just as the individual whom was shot (8) times, to his death, after he had allegedly took the taser,(that was dropped by his side, by the law enforcer who murdered him)..These are the things they do and get away with, when they think no ones looking...I appreciate the comment and am flattered you took the opportunity to read this one....Not all of them are bad but they need to start speaking up and out, when the truth is been sought....

Take Care,

Jim
