Social Standards

It's a strange thing.
Happiness, that is.
Often so easily contracted.
Easier destroyed.
Vulnerability makes you weak.
Being strong makes you cold.
Trying to be both makes your heart grow old.
Society has all of our souls on a shelf.
People nowadays can't even be themselves.
Ditch the standards, the expectations too.
And you'll find out nothing is better than,
Just being you.
