Soldier

Becoming more aware of
the location for my men
was to simply find their camps
and take those whom we've captured in.

But right before my eye's I'd seen
so many buddie's lay
some had only parts
the others blown away.

I watched my best friend Arnold
who in batalion eagle one
had been hit inside his fighter plane
but half of him was gone.

I stand paralized as gun fire
and explosions go off every where
I stand and pray to God
please get me out of here.

I look down and notice my boots
they were both covered with mud
I was following already made foot steps
through puddles of rain and blood.

Another buddy pulled on my shirt
telling me to keep walking and to watch out
but my eye's couldn't help but see
death was coming to me I had no doubt.

Then all of a sudden it went dark
and a stinging pain grew strong
through out my whole entire body
then I felt my arm was gone.

My body just went limp
as I fell upon the ground
then I started screaming
but no body was around.

When I opened up my eye's
I saw a medic on his way
and if it wasn't for that soldier
I wouldn't be here telling you this today.
