Soldier's Noel

Soldier's Noel

The skies were ablaze that Christmas night,
Bombs and gunfire lit darkness light.
From out of the pitch on gossamer wing,
A sweet melody began to sing.

A baritone voice rang out crystal clear,
Even the enemies couldn't help but hear.
One by one the gunfire silenced as he sang,
And not one bomb decided to rain.

The brave valiant soldiers wiped a tear,
Listening to the sweet voice so crystal clear.
All looked to the other to see who sang,
But the darkness covered the voice that rang.

Emotion clogged all to humble silence,
For a moment forgotten was all the violence.
Until the last note of Silent Night,
No one wanted to finish the fight.

A miracle happened, suspended in time,
All was peaceful and divine.
Then in the sky a bright star did adorn,
A reminder to all, Christ was born.
