SOMERSET WISCONSIN

SOMERSET WISCONSIN

I grew up in Somerset Wisconsin
An ethnic village of French Canadians
I miss warm bowls of soupe aux pois
On a cold winter’s day
Those memories make me
Wish once again I was a boy
Living on the banks of the beautiful fleuve
Father Hennepin named the ‘St. Croix’

I realize posting a poem about a small town might seem a little hooky, but I'm very proud of where I was born, and I thought I write a little poem in tribute.  The accompanying art work is mine.  Forgive my poor Windows 8 paint job, but understand I have a lot of fun making such images. And note the Village of Somerset is indeed right in the middle of the whistling lips.

Indeed Susan, that would be a wonderful idea.  And thank you for the kind comment.
