Something like a movie

We were both wide awake in the city that doesn’t sleep
Carrying those cell phone cameras hoping that they would keep
The memory of us being there in case we should ever forget
It was nearly the end of November and it wasn’t even freezing yet
It was like something like a movie
In Times Square in New York City
And as usual Broadway was lit up really pretty
But amongst the thousands there was only you and me
We knew it was time to go home but we didn’t go home
Instead like tigers through that concrete jungle we continued to roam
Until we found our shelter in an Irish bar
And sometimes it takes a miracle to find out who you really are
It was like something like a movie
In Times Square in New York City
And as usual Broadway was lit up really pretty
But amongst the thousands there was only you and me
It is the greatest city in the world
When you are walking down Broadway with your girl
Blind to every tourist that you won’t meet
All the way to 42nd street
Which is where we did go
But just before we went below
To catch the R train
You said, “I got to go back to Spain”
And as we walked to the subway
You said, “I got to go and I can’t stay”
“I got to go home now faraway”
“But we will meet again someday”
Then the night that shouldn’t have ended, finally came to an end
But when we hugged I whispered to you, “I will find you again”
Now at night when I lay in bed I thank God that I even met her
Storybook love in New York City and you couldn’t have scripted it better
It was like something like a movie
In Times Square in New York City
And as usual Broadway was lit up really pretty
But amongst the thousands there was only you and me
But now you are gone and that is just the way it has to be
But still in my heart I am preserving your memory
But that night was something like a movie

Hi Andrew,
I am speechless, this poem is very emotional... it habors great imagery.. i was able to watch every word scripted down like a movie...
Beautiful art...
Pepper.
Hey Pepper!
That is so sweet of you to write those kind words! Wow, you truly made my day! :) The poem / song is about our last night in NYC.
I met Margarita (the girl in the song) one day while coming home from work. It was just an ordinary boring Monday. I was waiting for the Staten Island Ferry (I live in Staten Island, NY but I work in Manhattan. I was going back home) when this angel asked me a question. I truly believe in fate and I KNOW that God sent her to me for a reason. She said, "Excuse me sir, is the ferry free?". Of course the ferry is free but being very tired I said, "No, it is $5.00 and you give me the money!" Ha ha ha. We started talking and she was going to be in NYC for a week. The song is about our last night in the city. I last saw her in November of 2013 but we have been in writing to each other ever since that night! I am flying to Spain next month to see her. :) She truly is angel from heaven and I can't wait to see her when I get off the airplane and hold her in my arms! I don't think I'm going to let her go! :) Thanks again Pepper!
May God bless you. :)

Hi Andy,
This is interesting .....it rarely happens......except in movies and fiction books lol............I think that she is angel because if not she wouldn't have been able to boldly walk in and build a castle in your heart and life........I wish you the best of luck with her.
This is the power of emotions..it enables one to write the perfect poems ever. Trust me, this poems is incomparable.
I am glad I made your day..i was being honest in my previous comment ......thanks for the reply and for posting this poem
God bless you too,
Pepper.
