"Something New"

"I'm trying something new,
and I've found out,
that it's better this way,
by taking drugs and alcohol,
completely away.

The Holy Ghost courses,
through this writing hand,
as I give in fully,
to all of It's Demands.
Because things are better,
better this way,
and when things get cloudy,
when things start turning grey,
I sit down and talk to God.
I sit down and I pray.

All of my old time,
I spent inadequately.
Using drugs to escape,
from all reality,
trying to get away from myself,
always battling me,
but that time has passed,
it's over.
It is done and dead,
and now I spend this time,
fixing what's wrong inside my head."
