Something's Wrong

Something's Wrong

Something’s wrong and I can’t
Quite put my finger on it
As Autumn progresses
And the nights draw in.
Β
Something’s wrong.
Β
I’m never too sure now
Of what is true or real:
Strangers- some faceless
Send me messages
Β
Through my phone;
I’m addicted in this strange
New world where everything
Is on display but
Β
Nothing’s known for sure
Friends can be people
You never meet.
The news might be fake
Β
That offer might be a scam
That story might be a hoax
And though people don’t meet
There’s still the danger of catching viruses.
Β
Living alone I’m
Strangely isolated
With friends
And with the nights drawing in
Β
It feels like something’s wrong.
