Sonnet 1

Based on 'Sonnet 130 - William Shakespeare'
My man does have pleasant blue eyes;
Yet I'd much prefer the exciting blue of the oceon.
As much as protection comes from little white lies,
Maybe this time his thrusts' will step up the motion.
I have seen better beards on circus females.
I have seen better social skills in a child.
I admit his hugs are written in tales;
Compared to my loyal dog, they could be mild.
Enthusiam and lust does enrich his kiss;
So had the red meat and veg an hour ago.
A phonecall from him I wouldn't miss,
If my music was playing I might say no.
And yet, my pumping heart, knows where she thrive
He is my half, my whole, he's the reason I'm alive.

Emma! Enjoyed this write! Yes, sonnet 130 is a beautiful one as Shakespeare describes his mistress's eyes and the way she walks. My favorite is sonnet 29. I, also, enjoy writing sonnets, even though the iambic pentameter is quite a challenge!

Val, good to hear from you! I'm glad you like it.
Sonnet 130 is just one of the poems that has never left my mind. Something so strangely endearing about that poem, despite all the flaws he made out.
I will have a scroll through your page :)
