Poem -

Soul Searcher

If I captured your heart like a picture in the moment, would you own it ?
And if I sliced you open like a fresh fruit from the tree, just to see, would you let me?
Just to see what despicable, diabolical, vile, ABSOLUTELY gratifying, unselfish, beauteous, seductive soul you possess in yourself.
Just to see if I could handle it.
Just to see if I would need help. And I did.
I slipped away like the last breath leaving a body, soul searching like you were my hobby, and even if I was a car at a stop sign you still couldn’t stop me.
Because I love you and I need to kno.
I need to stand you up straight and stare at you.
Because the eyes are the windows to the soul
And I searched em for the pot of gold.
But still nothing.
I mean somebody could’ve told me.
That it would hurt like this. That I could put my best shovel forward and dig and dig and dig
But I wouldnt find nothing more than a swig.
A swig of love , a piece of innocence , A smidget of conscience. There was nothing in your eyes lurking.
So no more. No more searching.
