Poem -

Souls

The lights are out,
The room is cold.
The house is empty,
And I am old.

My name is Rose,
And I have just died.
My parents do not know,
That I could not survive the night.

They will cry,
And they will mourn.
But in my place,
Another child is born.

It has my face,
And it has my name.
But in my place,
Is a soul in pain.

It can run and jump,
As I once did.
It can laugh and play,
And be just like a little kid.

But it doesn't like that,
Not anymore,
Since I have died,
And it was born.
