Sounds

Sounds

She tells us
In different ways
That we are failing

The roar of thunder
Pounding rain
Floods ripping through homes
Cars once driven, now… sailing.

Scorched earth
Dancing Fires
Racing through thirsty lands

Dulled skies
Thick, heavy pollution
Suffocating busy streets
Blankets of smog…expands

Ice caps
Melting into salty seas
Creaking, breaking, swallowed

She showed us
Devastation, death, despair
Disrespect of the once hallowed

Will we listen?
Will we notice?
The sounds of Mother Earth?

Will it be too late?
Will we care?
Close our eyes to her beauty & worth?
