Sparrowsong

Heres a simple poem
because I haven't written one in a while.
Inspired by a Sparrowsong
that filled my heart with a loving smile.

Its easy to express a feeling
by turning it into a rhyme
but what could be more beautiful
than a Sparrowsong all the time.

Though i've never seen one
a beautiful bird it must surely be
sheltered beneath a star lit night
singing melodies to me.

As darkness surrenderd the waiting sky
to the will of the coming light
under the passing morning's soft white clouds
I saw my sparrow in heavenly flight.

As I laid there in my warm bed
arriving before to long
was the pleasant sound I have come to love
the melodies of a Sparrowsong.
