Post early for Christmas, the slogans advise,
to make sure  your gifts will arrive.
Iâm not sure of the postage way up in the skies,
for the one gift I want to survive
This parcel is filled with the tenderest care
and is sealed with a most gentle kiss.
Itâs winging itâs way to my loved one up there
and the message attached will say this
âI miss you so much and at this time of year
When festivities are so profound
I know youâll be smiling, I wish you were here
and I wasnât so sadly earthbound.
But memories are treasures that live ever more
And remind us of all that we share
The laughter and tears that went all before
remembering when you were there
So although you are gone, I want you to know
that I carry you deep in my heart.
Merry Christmas, I love you, and still miss you so,
youâre inside me, weâre never apart.â

Christmastide is a difficult time..we love to make it joyous for the kids but we never quite forget those we have loved and lost..and long to keep them particularly close to us at this time of year..You use the world melancholy and that is the precise emotion that I hoped would dominate this piece and I am so happy you picked up on it my sensitive and gentle friend..Thank you so much.
