Spiritual Love

It's been a long time since I loved you,
but the same as it always was, very beautiful,
not emotional blackmail as some might say,
remember you're here - a person of the day.

Look how we laughed - ok, sometimes we cried,
all was removed, everything was kept inside;
how do you cope when something's more powerful
than you - can not resist what's straight and true.

Hearts don't melt, they pound, often without a sound,
the pressure is rising, outcome's often surprising,
those guides can take you for rides you never knew,
does it transpire that there's nothing you can do?

Maybe love is 'coming home' to you and I at last,
the secret was that we never noticed time had passed.
