Sporting Legend

I have an overriding will to succeed

To make the cut I would gladly bleed

Nothing else but winning is acceptable

I want to be always known as invincible !

Others say it is taking part that matters,

Finishing second would leave me in tatters !

Critics say I'm shallow, keeping all at a distance

But they've never won anything of substance  !!!
