Spring´s Peace

The presence of still water
and the Swan´s effortless glide,
through the silence of the passing clouds
the soaring hawk over Spring´s sweet
meadows of floating butterflies.

The lonely Wild Cherry Tree
that stands with the stones and thin streams,
over the gentle river trailing,
lazy tendrils of waterweed.

The birds sing for the heart
a farewell fanfare for the shadows
of Winter Moon and the cold stars,
muddy waters of rivers and seas
and all their writhing torturous drains,
where flows the hope of flushing rains
to cleanse the cloying swamps of grief

Where bloom wildflowers 
from every fragile, unfurling leaf.
