The squonk

The squonk

A tear is a monument to the soul
For God has created the tragedy
Deep in the forest of eternity
Where the squonk breathes
It can evaporate into tears
Blamed by the devil
It weeps for all shame
By the suffering in the corner
By the agony on the bridge
Before the suicide of life
Both eyes must swell
The heart must break
There is a split between the gods  and the monsters
The dark is now form
Children lay bleeding in their beds
Women lay raped on the floor stone
Mankind has disintegrated before God
And the squonk lays weeping
Weeping weeping for the tear that is it's very own
Until it breathes no more

Footnote
What is a squonk?

The legend holds that the creature's skin is ill-fitting, being covered with warts and other blemishes and that, because it is ashamed of its appearance, it hides from plain sight and spends much of its time weeping.
