St Mary
As we carry on.
Day to day.
We forget we are not alone.
Others have years of grey.
Remember the girl that was not cool.
And always was laughed at.
During her days at your school.
She now lies on a mat.
In the corner of a room.
Hooked to a machine.
Her life in doom.
Wish you wasn't so mean?
She has fought it off before.
But this time it's an indifferent allure.
Cancer is back wanting more
Silent is spread throughout the floor.
Now see her fight.
And her life's struggle.
Watch as a mother cuddles
A dying daughter in fright.
Now go on your way.
Run laugh and sing.
But stop and pray.
From your zing.
For now she is on a ward.
At Saint Mary.
With ten others on a cord.
A life lesson to carry.
I pray each night.
For her and her friend.
For and ease to the fight.
A hope it's not their end.
All the ones yet to come.
And the few that get to leave.
Let your heart not be numb.
In these young lives I believe.
Give them the strength to run.
And live without pain.
Playing under each days sun.
Let the souls already gone reign.
For Ellie. Stacey. Todd. Hannah. Tammy.
Lewis. Thomas. Sammy. Tyler. Oliver. Livi.
May your strength carry you far.
As we gaze upon the evening star.
With all my love. All my tears.
May you have long and happy years.
You touch me and made me strong.
Live life everyday sing loud your song.
