Stand Still

Too many times I find myself on the same road, the same track

There is no changing course, there is no turning back.

I stop to think about all the memories from the past

And it flows through me like water from a glass.

You can question, cry, scream and yell

And still the fact remains….

Things will happen, people will come and go but time will never stand still.

You always look back at things you have done and things you have said

Wishing you could change, have no regret and finally put the past to bed.

I wonder where I would be in life, if things were different and I was trapped in a 3x3 cell

I often think about my future and it scares me a little

Because why put so much effort into dreams when your life is left in shambles.

I like to imagine my life as it once was, surrounded by all the loves ones that I’ve lost

I can picture it like it was yesterday and yet it is so far away..

You’re no longer flesh toned and all is see is pale.

And still the fact remains…
