Standing on the edge

Look at all these people,
wandering around.
Half the time all they do
is stare down at the ground.
They just don’t seem to notice
what is right before their eyes
And that their head
Held way down there
Is not the best disguise.
You see, maybe we don’t realise,
In our half besotted daze,
That the life before us
Is not a passing faze.
It will continue moving,
It doesn’t hang around.
All the time it’s happening,
Whilst we’re staring at the ground
