Poem -

Standing still

I stand alone on broken legs, which soon will shatter into glass,
I dare not say the reasons why, or how this came to pass,
my memory only holds a thought that surely cannot be,
no ears to hear or hands to hold with eyes that cannot see,
my heart is made of pieces forged in fires long gone cold,
my mind is full of youthful hopes with a soul that's very old,
I cannot take a step and yet I know I can't stand still,
so wavering in darkness I'm a creature without will,
my strength is swallowed by my fate as I simply wait to die,
but worst of all is knowing that it's because I never tried,
so for all who hear this plea there is a lesson to be learned,
never give up chasing all the dreams for which you yearn.

I really liked the rhythm and how well it flowed. Nicely written
