Starlit Knight

Starlit Knight

Once in a blue moon
The blacksmith’s daughter
and the king’s knight, Unite

She awaits her beau in a moonlit night
As the frosty breeze bites at her fingers and toes.
She arose as she glimpses the sight
Of her beloved knight

Lovebirds’ eyes bright with bliss
They nuzzle under sky, so starlit
Reminiscing the times, they’d miss
each other to bits

Savouring each moment
before their adieus
She entrusts a crafted blade she made
In the knight’s hold

Folding their hands around metal so cold
Stroking fingers fondly on the war-made-tool
Crafted to aid life when battlefields unfold

Reaching for a final kiss
The blacksmith’s daughter lingers in the starry night
gazing at the silhouette
Marching towards the war
To fight in its lonely pits

May the blue moon keep their path lit
And stardust’s ardour lead them joined once more
