Steady Ground

Steady Ground

Living in this horror house
Couldn’t quite figure out how to escape
On the search for security, buried with no hope in sight

The walls are caving in
Roof is black again
All the lights are out
Desperate for a drought

Her tears are falling down
His words were slipping out
The love gone out the door
Where rent was due months before

The foundation’s crumbling now
no concrete for steady ground
No structure within them
Just left with a roof caved in
