Poem -

the steady storm

this ice, like a drop of rain
chills my heart like the clouds chill my skin
this wind, like a ghost
breathes through my throat and my tongue is pinned

words feel like dark grey pavement after a storm

and words
words fail to be of use when i have nothing to say
my hair blows in the breeze
feet trundle through the trees
but im going nowhere
the hailstones of revelations crack on my skull
and i fall
never full
to the floor

leaves
memories
blanket me wetly
its a cold comfort
autumn leaves are beautiful as they are dying

the last leaf of the forest
i want it to die
flutter down and cover my eyes
so you will not have to find me staring
