Stitches and Scars

Stitches and Scars

I stitched my torn heart
Using fabric of friendship
Linking the knots by
Cheerful words,
Vitalizing them by
Cool breeze,
Rustling leaves
And chirping aves.

I stitched my gaping soul
With gratuitous giggles,
Intrusive deeds
And futile scrawls.
Refining them with
Tranquil Melody
and phony reverie.

Eventually I gazed at my reflection
And found none but a stranger.
