I stole
your time

I manipulated
away
your golden years

The funk
does not
go away

For
no matterΒ 
how much
I giveΒ penitence

like grease
stained
on aΒ 
Versace
designed shirt

the residueΒ 
remains

your belief
in me
is pureΒ 

andΒ 
as you age
my shame
grows

Fear

abyss
of rejection

drove me
to ignore
the impact
I made

Today
I am chasing
time

to repay
all I have
taken

I am blindly
building
an empire

With every
few bricks
placed
a singleΒ 
brick is
set aside

somehow
someway

to learn
how to
build quicker
