Strange

Blinded I couldn't see
My life by darkness veiled
Slowly the cracks appeared
And eventually light prevailed

I couldn't cope with the pain
Or ignore my inner plight
The realization hit me hard
For myself I had to fight

A wishful wind then blew
Gathering beneath my wings
Lifting the cover on life
To open the joy it brings

Now I'm carried by a current
Towards real growth and change
Resist the urge to be against it
To love myself does feel strange
