Stranger in the mirror

Stranger in the mirror

I don't recognize the girl I see in the mirror

she tried to change her exterior, because it's desolate in her interior

she colored her hair and lined her eyes

her eyes are like a desert for they never cry

her skin is tough and her spirit unbroken

she hides her dark thoughts in words unspoken

she wanders around aimlessly with an emptiness about her

her world is in black in white instead of in vivid color

there are those that try to make her smile

but a true smile only crosses her face for a minute second every once in a while
