Streetlight Soliloquy

Caterpillar-green wings
flutter beneath timid shine.
Blossoms of rugged branches
once inhaling sunlight,
now insomniatric.
For lampposts deceive
their authentic nightfall,
and leave dreamless expansion.
What life to be lived
under fluorescent cosmos.
