A world of strangers wearing masks, deadliest weapon could be their touch
Two metres apart is how far we should stay, who knows who's infected or not
Even your friends need avoiding and some of your family as well
Lockdown, masks and injections, so far that's all we have got

Months have passed by, now it's almost one year, is there an end in sight
Keep following the rules, I don't want to be fined, I am praying for the end
Catch up on what I've missed, back to work, not really relishing that
Celebrate my special wedding anniversary, simply catch up with a friend

We should never take things for granted after a year like this
Once we can hug one another, make the most of it all
Tell everyone how much you care, and that you always will
Together we remain stronger and that way we'll never fall
