Stronger than I Know
I must be stronger than I know I guess I’d have to be,
Somehow I have got through a hard life without losing sight of me.
While growing up I had nothing, I could have turned bitter but instead,
I chose to put on a smile and work hard until I could slowly pull ahead.
As a child I felt resentment, but I grew older and eventually learned,
To feel pride in how far I have came and forget the bridges that were burned.
I have learned that a flower can grow in bad conditions if someone plants the seed,
And if it’s true you get what you put in I will take generosity over greed.
Because beauty will fade and the rich can go poor but if you look deep inside of you,
And find a strength of character that can't be taken you can succeed in all you do.
I am still hard on myself and feel less than others no matter where I go,
But to make it this far without breaking down I must be stronger than I know.
