My Love for You
You think that I don't care for you, or love you like you do me,
I wish I was able to show you that love in a way that you could see.
That's never been my strong suit, showing people how much I care,
But knowing you can't feel it is becoming a pain too much to bear.
No one has ever made me feel special or important the way that you do,
If wishes could be granted I would wish I made you feel that way too.
You make me feel so safe when I am tucked under your arm,
Like no matter what bad stuff is happening you will keep me away from harm.
If ever I come off cold it’s only because that is what I’ve learned,
From trusting the wrong people and coming away from it burned.
Just try and remember that I love you no matter how it seems,
Because though I can't always show it, you really are the man of my dreams.

Good poem featuring a well defined aabb rhyme scheme and a heartfelt message.
It's always nice to have love of some sort in your life, Crystal.
I love my 17-year-old, grumpy female Chihuahua, Gidget.
I love my kids, my parents, my family and the poetry of Poe, Frost, Dickinson and Carroll.
That's good enough for me.
Nicely penned...
