Somewhere on a west country couchette
they fell in love
and so completely, they both missed their
destination stops
But who cared, it was the summer of 19 ..
Hi Neville, I have a thing for travelling on trains, having done a lot of this sort of travel across Europe. I can totally relate to becoming lost in a moment in a carriage. Sadly not for love but just engrossed in the moment. I have missed stops before due to intense conversations with fellow travellers. It’s just so much fun 🙃
Loved this scene you made, as ever you grab the reader into the heart of the narrative

Wow .. you & me both .. and thank you so much for taking a peek @ todays little scribble .. your visit/s is/are truly & always appreciated Gwen ..
I've just booked my trip on the great western steam train for 28th December .. it has been dressed up like a Christmas tree .. a complete hedonistic post crimble self indulgence .................................................. check it out on Google x
Now I am green with envy, you lucky lucky man! I love trains, the older the better 😊 my father worked for British rail back in the day. So we all had passes to travel for free. Even in Europe and also on P&O ferries ⛴ I have many fond memories of travelling in those old train cabins, sleeping on a triple bunk and just meeting so many amazing people. My mum still has her pass. I took my son on his first steam engine ride a few years ago. It was a Christmas train so I know how magical that is going to feel. We had Santa come into our carriage. We also had festive food at our table, it was so much fun. I hope you have a blast 🙃
Thank you for checking in Gwen, I am truly chuffed (excuse the pun) .. your visits are always a pleasure to receive ... and yes, I can hardly wait to hop on board .. there really isn't anything quite like the smell and the feel of an old steam train ... although I was once quite partial to old British motorcycles ................... x
